How Does Boxing Affect Your Body In the Long Run?

Sam Archer2022-01-270

Staying fit and enjoying a good quality of life is a dream for everyone. Most people struggle with health issues because of their passive lifestyle. However, others push themselves and get to the gym only to realize that they are reaching their desired BMI but there is no return in real life. They are unable to defend themselves when needed, they can’t lift things easily and they get tired easily as well.

On the contrary, when people think about boxing, they feel it is just about self-defense. You learn how to protect yourself and you rely heavily on beating your opponent and striking him at the right place at the right time. However, most people do not realize that boxing is not just a simple combat game. Instead, it is a lifestyle that starts from healthy choices, a better diet and goes all the way to improving your quality of life.

For a beginner who is thinking of starting their boxing journey, here are some of the ways boxing affects your body in long run.

How Boxing Will Affect Your Body In Long Run?

  • Boxing is very good for burning calories. After just 3 minutes of boxing, you will soon figure out that it is helping you reduce your fat ratio and you are reaching your desired BMI without any extra workout.
  • Boxing helps in reducing the chance of injury by helping your body gain flexibility.
  • Boxing is very good for strength and endurance so after just 6 months of boxing sessions every day, you will be able to work more than another individual of your age group who is not working out.

  • Boxing is very good for muscle building so you will be able to see that you have a well-defined muscles line and your skin is not saggy
  • Boxing helps with improving blood circulation which helps in healing so any injury on the way gets healed easily.
  • Boxing is very good for skin scars and hair growth. You will notice that your hair is becoming ticker and shinier as well.
  • Boxing reduces the chance of cardiovascular issues by reducing the extra fat deposited in the body.
  • Boxing is very good for maintaining a good ratio of blood sugar and blood cholesterol.
  • Boxing is excellent for people who have depression and find it difficult to focus on daily tasks.
  • People with anxiety and depression report significant improvement right after their boxing session. In fact, regular boxing classes can help you reduce the chance of any mental health issues, especially anxiety and depression.
  • Kids with ADHD can try boxing and it will help them to find their focus anchor which will aid in the learning process as well and you will see improvement in their day-to-day tasks.

Bottom Line

To sum it all up, it all comes down to the way you utilize your workout. Most people think boxing is just self-defense. However, it helps you stay fit as well. Just a 15 minutes intense shadow boxing session will help you replace your 45 minutes heavy workout in the gym. Overall boxing is a full-body workout that also helps you improve your mental health. You will notice that with the help of boxing your mood is much better and you do not feel very low.
